Did you know that brisk walking reduces the risk of heart disease? A recent study from the American Heart Association Journal of Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology proved that the health benefits of walking are comparable to running if not more impactful.

Here are some other health benefits of walking:

- Strengthens bones and joints

- Weight control/maintenance

- Reduces stress

- Improves sleeping patterns

- Reduces depression

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 150 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise is recommended per week. If you break it down, that’s just a 10 minute walk three times a day during your work week. As a healthcare company, Molina understands the importance of advocating healthy lifestyle habits. But do we actually walk the talk? It’s time to put our words into action starting NOW and start walking regularly. Talk to your coworkers, friends and family and start a walking club today…it just may change your life!
